Dear SIFF Staff, SIFF Executive members, PFA Presidents and General Secretaries, colleagues and football family in Solomon Islands and the OFC region.
It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing away of our dear colleague, friend and referees development officer, the late Robert Sulimae today, 4th February 2022 in Honiara after two weeks of hospitalization at the National Referral Hospital from covid-19 infection.
The late Robert took up the position of Referee Development Officer (RDO) in September 2018 until his passing this afternoon. Robert had served the football family in Solomon Islands and in the region in his capacity as SIFFβs RDO for the past three and half years. He has a lot of passion for his job, the first to be at the office and the last to leave just before the office key keeper locks the office doors every day. Late Robert was a cool guy who can easily relate to anybody and was always full of laughter and was an easy-going guy who rarely lose his temper even when he was tested beyond the limits.
He will surely be missed by all of us. Dear Robert, your sudden and unexpected passing has reminded us of this harsh reality that life is too brief and that we are just passing through.
To the dear family of late Robert, please accept our deepest condolences as we mourn with you at this very difficult time. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and may the good Lord comfort you and grant you the strength to overcome your grief. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
May his soul rest in peace with his Lord until that resurrection morning.
Leonard Paia
