THE inaugural UMI CUP League of football competition which kicked off in August of this year has continued with its scheduled pooled matches featuring teams registering vital points at the Maranatha Sports Ground, East of Honiara.
Yesterday’s scheduled matches featured teams in pools A, C, and D competing to register 3 points on this year’s table ladder.
In the Pool C fixtures – Kasigu FC thrashed FC Kuvojo, 5-0 to register 3 points, and in Pool D fixtures – VIBA Fox FC secured another 3 points after defeating Rendova Baruku FC, 4-2 in yesterday’s league competition.
The League competition now reaches the qualifying and elimination rounds; the qualified teams are expected to compete in the top 16 teams’ knock-out stages.
