THE SOLOMON Islands Karate Federation has submitted a total of 30 athletes to undergo their high-performance training under this year’s scholarship program at the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sports.
The Federation has submitted a total of 15 Female and 15 Male candidates to build themselves in their preparation for the upcoming Pacific Games in 2023.
The program’s scheduled training days at the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sports (SINIS) building complex are 3 days per week – which is every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, according to a statement from the country’s Karate Federation.
Men candidates:
Robert Gregory Anita, Rex Kenihiria, Dennis Sipora, Timi Oge, Michael Alafa, Harry Marini, Junior Otoi, Philip Rakei, Joshua Samoa, Joe Kwasii, Tony Agia, Linjay john Fatalae’a, Ashley Marini, Everest Ega, and Moses Harisimae.
Anita, Kenihiria, Sipora, and Oge were selected to train under the 84kg; Alafa, Marini, Otoi: 75-84kg, Rakei, Samoa, Kwasii, and Agia: 67-75kg, whilst Fatalae’a, Marini, Ega, and Moses Harisimae: 60-67kg.
Female candidates:
Betty Mona, Irish Eremae, Noelyn Keni, Teresa Marini, Joyce Gua, Nancy marle, Agnes Tebano, Mary Liu, Jacinta Uriga, Jeanial winery, Miriam Sina Ere, Jeanie Moses, Lorinna Mona, Anisa Temakai, and Christina Aruna.
Mona, Eremae, Keni, Marigeni will train in the 68kg, Gua, Marle, and Tebano: 61-68kg, Liu, Uriga, Winery, and Sina Ere: 55-61kg, Moses, Mona, Temakai and Oruna: 50-55kg.
