SOLOMON Water’s participation at this year’s Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport – 2023 Pasifiki Athlete Career & Education Expo has enabled them to provide information about their reliable and safe water supply services operations in the country.
At this year’s annual Pasifiki Athlete Career & Education Expo recently at the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sports (SINIS) High-Performance Center, the Solomon Water’s Corporate Support and Communications Coordinator, Rose Ramoifuila said the Solomon Water (Solomon Islands Water Authority) is a state-owned enterprise mandated to operate as the provider of municipal water and wastewater services in the Solomon Islands.
She said the 2023 Career & Education Expo is crucial for the country’s athletes, particularly to help them to learn more about the options and services offered by Solomon Water.
“At this year’s Athlete Career & Education Expo, athletes were informed of Solomon Water’s mission and vision, which is to provide clean water for a healthy society in the country.
“We provide Solomon Water’s services and information, as well as teaching materials concerning Honiara’s non-revenue water, water catchment, network system, and water delivery system.
“It is crucial that we participate in the Expo because, as a state-owned company, we must assist our athletes. We are pleased to be part of the Expo to share with our athletes.
“What we want the athletes to understand is that the majority of our effort is in line with our objective, which is ‘safe water for a healthy nation’.
All of the work we do, whether on the field or in our offices, is to contribute towards our vision,” she told RAW SPORTS.
The Solomon Water’s Corporate Support and Communications Coordinator said Solomon Water provides services to Honiara as well as other provinces in the country, such as Auki in the Malaita province, Tulagi in the Central Islands province, and Noro in the Western province.
“We serve Honiara, Auki, Tulagi, and Noro under our responsibility to provide a safe water supply system and also wastewater service for select portions of Honiara,” Ruth said. “As we know, water is life.”
She also urged the general public to support SIWA in making on-time payments on its bills and conserving water.
“To keep our family safe, she advised using water carefully, paying your bills on time, and maintaining good personal and household cleanliness,” she said.
The Solomon Islands Water Authority is a state-owned enterprise wholly owned by the Government of Solomon Islands. It is mandated to operate as the provider of municipal water and wastewater services in the Solomon Islands.
