Former Switzerland Beach Soccer Coach and FIFA Beach Soccer Expert also the OFC Trainer, Angelo Schirinzi has conducted a five days training for Solomon Island National Beach Soccer Team recently.
This was made possible under an arrangement made by the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC).
Schirinzi mission is to visit Beach Soccer Federations in the Oceania region to train national beach soccer teams’ in preparation towards the upcoming Beach Soccer World-Cup Qualifiers round June this year.
During Team’s training at the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport (SINIS) on Sunday 19 February 2023, Schirinzi said that he only spends five days’ and will travel for Fiji, Tahiti and Tonga. Angelo Schirinzi said he is surprised to see how Solomon Islands have many potential players in the country however one of the needs for players is to have more tournaments and discipline for improvement.
During their training Schirinzi noticed how the boys had quickly pick up what they learn things, but he however said they need more training and tournaments to complete in the region.
Dickson Kadau, Solomon Islands Futsal & Beach soccer development officer said that after Schirinzi leaves the country this week, they will host championship to select squad for the upcoming Beach Soccer elimination rounds.
The Five days training under Schirinzi include theory and practical session which is a bonus for National Beach Soccer team as they continue to prepare for upcoming FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Qualify 2023, from November to December in United Arab Emirates.
