The Solomon Islands men’s floorball national team is stepping up its preparations for the Asia and Oceania Floorball Confederation (AOFC) qualification tournament ahead of the 2026 Men’s World Floorball Championship. The event will take place in New Zealand on January 13, 2026.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport (SINIS) yesterday, Head Coach Adam Olofsson said the team’s preparations are going well, but there is still room for improvement.
“Our players are completely fit, and if we qualify, we will be ready,” Olofsson said. “We need to mentally prepare the best team possible. Some players are still struggling with focus and mentality, and that’s something we are working hard on.”

The coach added that discipline and teamwork are key areas the team must continue to develop. “The players need to have the right mentality, discipline, and tactical understanding. Everything must be organized if we want to succeed,” he explained.
Team captain Ricky Fairamoa shared similar thoughts, saying the players have been training four days a week to get ready for the big event. “Our boys are fit, but we need to work harder in the coming months to improve our skills and game structure,” Fairamoa said.
He also expressed excitement about working with the team’s new assistant coach. “We are looking forward to learning more and improving together. It’s all about teamwork and pushing each other to be better,” he added.
The AOFC qualification tournament will decide which teams from the Asia-Oceania region will compete in the 2026 Men’s World Floorball Championship in New Zealand. The Solomon Islands team hopes to make history by qualifying for the first time.
