Honiara, Solomon Islands, Sunday 22 March 2026 – The Solomon Islands Government has reaffirmed its support for national unity through sports, announcing SBD 4 million in funding for the Solomon Kings football team.
Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manele, MP, said football continues to be a powerful unifying force in the country.
“This support reflects our commitment to one of the GNUT policy pillars—stability and unity,” he said.
The Prime Minister encouraged all Solomon Islanders to rally behind the team as they continue their Pro-League campaign.
“I was pleased to watch both of their games here in Honiara, and I encourage our people to continue supporting them wherever they play,” he added.
