A mixture of experienced and youth players are called up to be part of the Solomon Islands Kurukuru training squad in preparation for the FIFA Futsal World Cup qualifiers in October 2023 in Auckland, New Zealand.
Interim head coach Francis Lafai named 34 players into the extended squad featuring some of the golden generation active players in the form of Elliot Ragomo, Jack Witney, James Egeta, Micah Lea’alafa, George Stevenson, Coleman Makau, Jeffery Bule and Micah Lea’alafa.
Core members of the OFC Futsal Cup and a few new players are drafted into the squad.
Home-based players will start training tomorrow, Tuesday 31st January 2023 and Thursdays at the Honiara outdoor multipurpose under the guidance of Lafai and trainer Nelson Kabitana.
Meanwhile, SIFF is in the process of hiring a foreign coach who will join the national side soon.
