After a 5-6 year absence from the National League, Malaita Kingz FC has made a remarkable comeback, finishing as runners-up in the 2025 Super League season.
From the very start of the season, the team showed determination and hard work, which carried them all the way to the final match at Lawson Tama Stadium last Saturday. Despite losing to defending champions Central Coast FC, Malaita Kingz ended the season with 15 wins, 6 draws, and just one defeat—a testament to their strong performance.
“This is a huge achievement for Malaita Kingz FC! Their hard work and dedication have truly paid off,” said one fan, while another added, “This silver medal is just the beginning. I’m excited to see what the future holds for this talented team!”
Coach Eddie Marahare expressed his pride in the team, saying, “We’re thrilled with this outcome. Our players have shown remarkable skill and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. During our return to the Super League, our main objective was to be in the top 4, and now we have achieved what we aimed for.”
Looking ahead, the coach is focused on even greater success. “We’ll continue to work hard and strive for excellence. The gold medal is within reach, and we’re eager to claim it,” he said.
Malaita Kingz finished the season with 51 points, just behind Central Coast FC, who took the top spot with 54 points. The team also received a cash prize of $170,000, rewarding their incredible season.
