THE organizers of the Pacific Games 2023 in Honiara have announced that if anyone wishes to access the venues of this year’s prestigious sporting event, the ticket sales will start in September.
The Pacific Games 2023 Marketing Department Representative, Mike, revealed on a recent radio talkback show program hosted by the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation (SIBC) on August 6 that starting in September 2023, the general public will be able to purchase multi-ticket packages to access the specific sessions or events of this year’s Pacific Games in Honiara.
Mike said that tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as for some specific sports sessions, will be available during this sales phase.
He said these tickets will be for the opening and closing ceremonies and other sporting events, such as the athletics and other track and field events, football, futsal, tennis, swimming, volleyball, boxing, and others, for example.
“The tickets will be printed this month and then made available for sale next month, September.
“There are different types of categories that come under Pacific Games 2023 (PG2023) ticketing, such as the opening ceremony and closing ceremony tickets.
“The prices for the opening and closing ceremonies tickets are SBD200, which is only valid for that particular day or program of the opening and closing ceremonies.
“If we look back at the ticket prices and look at the standard of the PG2023, for example, if it is held outside of our country, the ticket prices would be in big amounts.
“It means our ticket prices are very reasonable. Very cheap,” Mike told RAW SPORTS.
Tickets types, prices, and details are as follows:
• Opening Ceremony Ticket: Price: SBD200, Validity: 1 Day (19.11.2023), Access: National Stadium, Conditions: Valid for only the opening ceremony. Not usable at other venues.
• Closing Ceremony Ticket: Price: SBD200, Validity: 1 Day (02.12.2023), Access: National Stadium, Conditions: valid for only the opening ceremony. Not usable at other venues.
• Package Ticket Pass: Price: SBD1000, Validity: 14 Days, Access: National Stadium, Conditions: Excluding Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
• Sport City Ticket/Pass: Price: SBD500, Validity: 14 Days, Access: All Venues in Sport City, Conditions: For only events or sports held in Sports City.
• General Admission Ticket: Price: SBD30, Validity: 1 Day, Access: Specified Venue, Conditions: Non-refundable after date of use
• Football Final Ticket: Price: SBD100, Validity: Football Final Only, Access: National Stadium, Conditions: Independent Ticket
He said on top of that, the package ticket pass is the most expensive ticket.
“If you pay the package ticket pass, you are eligible to access all venues and watch from Friday, November 17 to Saturday, December 2. Meaning that you are able to watch any sport.
He said that those paying for the package ticket pass can access the sports city arena at King George VI area (which is sited from the Hockey Pitch, the National Stadium, and the friendship hall at Panatina Campus area).
“But the sports city ticket/pass is specifically for the sports city alone. The Sport City venues will feature sports like futsal, tennis, swimming, volleyball, boxing, and others. The Sport City venues will also allow spectators to access VIP, where you can watch the games from December 17 to December 2.
“The cheapest ticket is general admission and is valid for a single day. Each venue will have a general admission ticket.
