HONIARA Rugby Union Association (HRUA) 2021 season nears its completion as deciding matches confirmed starting this weekend Saturday 21st at the Town ground rugby stadium.
This is for the Solrais Grand Premier and Division A categories.
For the premiership third & fourth playoff this year will see Henderson Hammerheads 1 taking on Biz Solution Solfresh Islanders.
Islanders Rugby Club last season dropped out from the premiership top four placements and will anticipate a win to finish off their campaign while HHH 1 will also be looking to retain their third status.
This season again will be an all-southern affair between defending Champions SPOL Avaiki 1 and Matangiki Blues for the premiership crown.
HRU Division A third and fourth playoff will see underdogs Flying SOSA hoping for a top finish in their dream start campaign, as they take on the division’s defending champions, Matangiki White.
Last season’s third runners-up Henderson Hammerheads 2 this year will go head to head with SPOL Avaiki 2 on the division’s top decider.
HRUA meanwhile confirmed all rugby special giveaways by sponsors and its partners will continue throughout the rugby playoffs.
“Our Telekom Man of the Match Aspera A45 handset special giveaway will continue for the Division A finals along with a 20kg bag rice from major sponsors Solrais Company,” HRUA Executive confirmed.
“For the Premiership finals, the giveaway package of 20kg bag rice for the winning team will continue. Also, the premier matches halftime specials for the attending public are all supported by this year’s major sponsors Solrais Company.
HRUA President Brian Taupiri thanked the league’s sponsors and partners for their continuous support and commitment to reaching this far in the competition.
“On behalf of my executive, clubs, and supporters we would like to sincerely thank our sponsors and partners who have all contributed towards the success of the league so far. We assure them of our close commitment to working together for the betterment of the game in Honiara,” Taupiri expressed.
Sponsors include; Solrais Company and Our Telekom including HRUA rugby partners Coral Sea Resort, Szetu Enterprises Ltd, and the Solomon Islands Rugby Union Federation (SIRUF).
