THE Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) can confirm the dates of all national competitions for this year.
After a successful run of competitions last year 2023 including the XVII Pacific Games, the federation will host a total of 17 competitions this year including OFC events.
SIFF this year also will be introducing the Four Nations Challenge during the FIFA International Window in March – nations include, Fiji, Tahiti, and New Caledonia to be played at the National Stadium.
In reviving the beach soccer code, this year will also see the introduction of the Super Beach Soccer League. This is for clubs and provincial teams, as the country for the first time will host the OFC Beach Soccer Nations Cup 2024 in September.
Youth development competitions will see an increase in women and girls’ participation with the hosting of the first Women’s Solomon Cup 2024, National U18, U16 Girls League, and the U14 and U16 Girls Championships that will target clubs and schools.
Kicking -off the year, this month S-League U19 will complete its final rounds from last year before the change of the age category to U18 for the new season scheduled from March to October 2024.
Returning as MSG Prime Minister’s Cup Champions last year from New Caledonia the country had also confirmed to be the host of this year’s annual Melanesian challenge in September.
