THE East Are’are Christmas Cup tournament entered its 3rd round on Wednesday 29 at Hautahe village in East Are’are, Malaita province.
Called the ‘Sir Peter and Lady Margaret Kenilorea’s cup 2021’ the Championship had completed its day 2 matches on Tuesday this week.
According, Mr. J.B Naohane from Hautahe said Raea’o Football club of Pool C Group took the lead after day 2 of the competition with 7 points after playing 3 games in the competition.
Both the East and West Are’are Constituency have all officially opened each constituent’s organised annual competitions on 27 of December 2021.
Mr. Naohane said that Tri- Pota FC and Foulofo FC of Group B all tied to 6 points after playing 2 games each day 2 of the competition.
He added that securing four points each on the standing after day 2 are host –Hautahe FC and St Michael FC of group A, Tawanaora and Moscom FC of Pool C, Manawai FC and Hauhato FC of Pool D.
He said each of these Clubs registered the points after playing 2 games each on day 2 which was on Tuesday 28 2021.
He told Rawsports from Hautahe village, that there are a total of 24 teams for soccer and 12 for Netball.
He further stated that pool D teams who have also registered points include Nari’ao’a FC with 3 points, Tatasu with 2 points and Onesuria 2 points.
“Homeland Fc, Arakao FC, Kanata FC, Su’u United Fc have all yet to move their way up after registering 1 point each in day 2 of the competition.
Teams that haven’t registered any points yet after day 2 of competition includes Hauhari’i FC and Nu’usi Islanders of Pool B, Hatawa and Masupa FC of pool C and Rara Surge FC of pool D.
