Meanwhile speaking at the Mascot name launch in July this year (2022), Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare had previously stated that Solo will be touring all nine provinces, adding that Solo the Mascot will unite Solomon Islands.
“Solo will be visiting valleys, lagoons, mountains, terrains, and sandy beaches. It will be crossing our blue oceans, rivers and lakes across the length and breadth of our country. Solo, the Mascot is our uniting factor and a source of pride for our people and our country, Solomon Islands.
Solo is authentic and imaginary, inspirational, fun, vibrant, positive, and original. It is spotty, adventurous, and friendly, reflecting the theme for the 2023 PGs challenge, celebrate, unite.
Prime Minister Sogavare said that Guadalcanal, Isabel and the Central Islands provinces were the first provinces to receive the games official mascot.
