TEENAGE swimmer, Brenton Naka says he dreams to earn a spot on the team of the Solomon Islands in the next year’s Pacific Games in Honiara.
Brenton, 17 is one of the new waves of young and passionate swimming talents in the country. He told RAW SPORTS that he is currently a member of the Solomon Islands training swimming team currently undergoing scheduled swimming workouts at the seafront next to the Ranadi Marine School in East Honiara.
He is currently concentrating his training efforts on the freestyle swimming stroke and hopes to master it.
“I was introduced to swimming in 2021, however, this year, I decided to join the Solomon Islands Swimming Federation and train with the swimming athletes in the freestyle swimming stroke.
“I believe that this is an opportunity for me to engage in this particular sport and hope to represent the country in the next year’s Pacific Games in Honiara,” said Naka, who is currently a form three student at Mbua Valley Community High School in Honiara.
