Preparations underway

THE Solomon Islands Volleyball Federation (SIVF) is gearing up to host a series of competitions starting next month September to November.
SIVF President Morris Maitaki called on intending clubs to comply and complete all registration requirements, confirming three competitions with the period the three months period.
The competitions are;
- National Volleyball League (September 12)
- Honiara Volleyball League Division A
- Federation Cup tournament (October 24 to 29)
The Honiara league according to SIVF will run together with the national premiership competition.
One is the National Volleyball League planned to kick off on the 12 September, the Division A league called the Honiara volleyball league that will be managed by Honiara volleyball Association. This league according to Maitaki will run concurrently with the NVL premiership league.
“This event will be run by the SIVF federation and it going to be an open category for both men and women. All the events will be held in Honiara at the SMI Compound at Town Ground.” Maitaki said.
The volleyball president meanwhile called on clubs to ensure all registration fees and processes are settled and followed before the due date.
“On behalf of the SIVF management we call on those established clubs that I have stated earlier to ensure all registration processes are completed,” Maitaki stated.
“First step teams need to confirm your participation either in the Premiership league or DIVISION A league.
“Next step is to submit your team list by names of 12 players plus three officials by 5th September 2021.
“Next step is to pay up your registration fee of $1,000.00 for Premiership league and $700.00 for Division A league. This must be paid by 10th September 2021.
“Registration of individual players by $20.00 per player per year. An identification card will be issued to individual players once all formalities have been confirmed such as annual membership contracts, affiliation fees, and registration fees.
“Final step is to make sure your players and teams are fit and prepared to compete in the Premiership and DIVISION A league set to Kick off on 12th September 2021. Any changes we will inform participating clubs accordingly. Thank you,” Maitaki adds.
The teams that have been nominated by the SIVF for the Premier National volleyball league and Division A league competitions meanwhile are as follows:
PNVL TEAMS
Men’s: West Honiara, FAMOA, Rainbow, Lauru, Avaiki, Taumako, Soa United, Central Honiara (no.3), MOI, Madara, Western province, GIPPOL, Centre Side, and Alligator Crocks.
Women’s: Arasina, Rainbow, Famoa, Lauru, Avaiki, Mix Blood, GIPPOL, MOI, West Side, Central Honiara, Alligator, and Madara.
DIVISION A TEAMS
Men’s: Famoa, Rainbow, Avaiki, Taumako, Soa United, Center side, MOI, GIPPOL, Aligator, WESTERN province, MADARA, and LAURU.
Women’s: Arasina, AVAIKI, RAINBOW, LAURU, FAMOA, MOI, WEST side, GIPPOL, Central Honiara, and Western.
