KIU United has come out the winner of the 2021 West Are’are Christmas Cup Tournament recently held at Hauhui, West Are’are Malaita province.
Day five which is the final Pool round of matches saw Kiu United finished at the top leading pool A group with a total top 12 points away from Taruma FC’s 9 points.
The men in Blue’s secured their Final spot after defeating their Pool A rival Taruma FC with a 1-0 in the first semifinals today 1st January 2022.
The second semifinals today saw Ry_ Coast of Pool D went pass Arana FC of Pool D 3-1 in a penalty shootout after full-time 2-2 all.
The determine Kiu United then claimed the victory when they defeat Ry_Coast of Pool D in an entertaining grandfinal match today at Hauhui playing ground.
Ry_ coast settled on the second place, Arana FC on the 3rd spot while Taruma FC settled on the 4th place.
