IN an exciting day of beach volleyball action at the XVII Pacific Games 2023 SIFF Academy Beach Complex today, both the men’s and women’s teams showcased their prowess, securing their spots in the semi-finals.
The men’s team put on a dominant display over New Caledonia winning 21-15, 16-14. Tam Teribu and Ray Quan, looked in excellent form and now have a semi-final meeting with Tuvalu tomorrow 3pm at the SIFF Academy Beach Complex.
“We are thankful for the Home crowd, their support gives us a winning spirit.
“Second Set is a bit challenge for us, New Caledonia got the leading score but we managed to take it on.
“We trust each other, and we look forward for our game tomorrow, and we need the same support from families and friends,” Tam said.
On the women’s side – Hanna Donga and Kirstin Baimasi faced off against Samoa, continuing their unbeaten streak to beat the Samoa 2 sets to 1.
The Solomon Islands Women will face Fiji in their semi-final at tomorrow 12:30pm at the SIFF Academy Beach Complex.
“We are just positive and hoping to make our country proud,” Hanna said.
