ROKERA are now reigned champions in the men’s open category of the four days futsal fundraising competition on Monday at the Tawahaule village, South Malaita.
Rokera Provincial Secondary School overpowered Mara Beach FC 1-0 to scoop a trophy and cash prize of $5000.
A member of the Catholic-dominated community of Tawahaule, Falanie Junior described the futsal tournament as a fundraising drive to help assist in the completion of their new church chapel.
This year’s tournament kicked off from 10 to 13 September and attracted 24 teams to compete for the first price of $5000 and a trophy, including the second prize of $4000, the third price of $2000, and the fourth prize of $1000.
Tawahaule community is located in ward 22 of the South Malaita Constituency in Malaita province.
