THE Green Berets Netball Club (GBNC) since its establishment 20 years ago survived through donation fees and fundraising drives.
But recently, the netball Club signed their first ever Memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Capital Insurance Solomon Island (SI) limited to secure a backing for the club.
The MoU signing was made in the presence of GBNC President, Doris Dolaiasi, and Team Captain, Miriam Poloso, Team Manager and Capital Insurance Country Manager, Gau Gomea and other club representatives.

used the brief signing ceremony to thank the Capital Insurance manager and his office for the support.
“The club normally support themselves through players’ contribution fees and organized fundraisings since we established.
“That’s how the club survive. The SI Correctional Services (CSSI) also supported us.
“That’s how we managed to survive for the past 20- years,” Mrs. Dolaiasi assured Capital Insurance Country manager Gau Gomea during the MoU signing on Friday 6-08 2021.
“I would like to convey our appreciation on behalf of the executive, players, management for seeing the importance to support the women. Despite the pandemic, you manage to secure fund to support us.
“This sponsorship today (Friday 6 August) is a course sponsorship for the duration of this period (Current competition) and will go towards the Club’s women’s Super Division uniforms and sporting kits,” She said.
Capital Insurance Country Manager, Gau Gomea expressed his office’s appreciation for GBNC’s appeal for the support and a new beginning.
“This is the team, our team that wants the relationship and its part of (CISIL) our community engagement.
“We are excited to have this new partnership,” Gomea said.
“Today’s occasion is to sign a MoU and our commitment is up to $5,000 for the Uniforms that you want to procure. We can have revisit at it again when the competition ends.
“Besides, we as a company here, we will continue to support at anytime and when the season does end I expect you to be around here. We thank you for the partnership,’’ Gomea said.
