The Course is organized under the Education Centre Program Funded by OFC.
A total of 26 Coaches from all over Western Province attended the 3-day course which started yesterday and will conclude on Thursday 8th September 2022.
Speaking during the opening of the course, Noro Football Association President, Mr. Nelson Boso highlighted the importance of having such an important course delivered in Noro to support their football development strategic plan.
“Noro town is becoming the fastest growing town in the western region and the demand for football activities amongst the growing population is overwhelming,” he said.
“With the population of children and youth growing by the day, NFA saw the importance of engaging and creating opportunities for young people to lead football into the future. There is a growing need for coaches and referees in Noro township because we have created football activities every year but our clubs need to have qualified coaches so that we can develop good players for the future”.
The NFA President thanks SIFF and OFC for accepting Noro as hosts for this course. He also thanked other stakeholders like the Noro Town Council and Soltuna for the support they always give to football in Noro.
“It is indeed a privilege for Noro Football association to be given such an opportunity where a coaching course is conducted in Noro for the first time in years. In the past, all the MA courses are always delivered in Gizo and for this, we thank WFA for recognizing our need by giving us this opportunity,” Boso added.
The MA Grassroots Coaching Course is facilitated and delivered by SIFF Technical Director, Moses Toata.
