A productive meeting was recently held between officials from the FIFA Regional Development Office, the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF), and representatives from the Makira Ulawa Provincial Government (MUPG) to discuss the development of the Kirakira Football Stadium project.
The meeting aimed to establish clear parameters for advancing the project and delineate the responsibilities of all stakeholders involved.
Discussions were headlined by Mr. David Firisua Jnr, Head of the FIFA Regional Development Office, accompanied by Assistant Head, Ms. Angelina Lee-Hussien.
They were joined by the Provincial Minister for Lands and the Minister for Sports of the Makira Ulawa Provincial Government, along with SIFF management.
The meeting underscored the commitment of all parties to the successful realization of the Kirakira Stadium project, emphasizing its significance not only in terms of sporting infrastructure but also for its positive impact on the local community.
SIFF outlined its plans to commence groundwork on the stadium project in 2025.
Collaboration with the Makira Ulawa Provincial Government through the Makira Ulawa Football Association (MUFA) will be pivotal in achieving milestones and ensuring the project’s alignment with community needs and aspirations.
