Former Solomon Islands National Football Midfielder, Alick Maemae has expressed his confidence in the current SI National Men’s Football team.
Mr Maemae or better known as ‘Mr Cool’ made the comments after viewing the National team’s 3 warm-up matches played in Australia before heading off to Qatar for the World cup qualifying competition in which, the boys will play their first game this coming Friday against the Cook Islands.
Mr Maemae told Rawsports that he is very happy with the selection of the National Squad because it consisted mainly of both old experienced players as well as young players.
“Young players are filled with energy to perform within the spirit of playing soccer, all they need is good coaching and they will perform wonders,”.
Mr Maemae was seventeen years of age himself when he was selected to join the National squad back in 2004 in the World Cup qualifying match against the mighty Australian Socceroos.
In the meantime, he wishes the National Squad all the best and good luck as their begins their World Cup qualifying campaign against the Cook Islands come Friday Match 18.
After their match against Cook Islands on Friday, March 18, their second march will be against Vanuatu on Monday, March 21 and against Tahiti on March 25.
All marches will be live-streamed on mycujoo/eleven Sports and OFC Websites.
