PARA athlete who will be representing the country at the 2020 Paralympic Tokyo game, said that she is prepared and will try her best at the international level if the government allowed them to travel to participate at the Paralympics in Tokyo.
Jeminah Otoa, 22 is from Kwara’ae in Malaita province. She told Rawsports that this will be her first time for her to go out and participate in such international events.
“It was my first time to participate in such a big events.
“I know it will be very tough competition but I will try my best according to my preparations,” She said.
Jeminah will be competing in two events, Taekwondo and Javelin said that she was satisfied with her trainings in both events.
She further stated that though it is a challenge for her, she was very happy and confident to represent Solomon Island in the Tokyo Paralympic.
Rawsport understand that Jeminah alongside other male athlete, Solomon Jagiri will represent team Solomons at the Tokyo Paralympic game. Jeminah will be performing at two events, Taekwondo and javelin while Jagiri will only participate Taekwondo event only.
Meanwhile, Jeminah said she also want to acknowledge her fellow para athletes not to give up with their trainings even though they are not selected to participate in the Paralympic Games, and to focus on other upcoming para challenges especially the SPG2023.
Solomon Islands Para Head Coach, Mark Ologa in the meantime confirmed to Rawsports that their traveling to the Tokyo Paralympic games is yet to be confirm by the Solomon Island Paralympic Committee.
