SOLOMON Islands national boxing training team’s early preparations are on positive momentum ahead of next year’s 2023 Pacific Games set for 19 November to 2 December 2023 in Honiara.
Early this year, the Solomon Islands National Amateur Boxing Association (SIABA) selected 26 boxing athletes (18 male and 8 females) to undertake the elite scholarship program at the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport (SINIS) High-Performance in East Honiara.
Solomon Islands boxing coach, Howard Peter confirmed that their scheduled training sessions are going well as expected, and the final selection for team boxing Solomon Islands will be conducted soon.
“So far our training is going well as we expected and the boxers have shown massive improvements. We aim to work together and achieve the highest level of discipline in our training.
“The boxers are continuing their training in high spirits with the ultimate goal to win gold medals at the 2023 Pacific Games in Honiara,” Howard told RAW SPORTS.
