THE second round of golf competitions will commence today, following the completion of the first round at the Honiara Golf Club (HGC) course center in east Honiara.
The competition’s first round saw 38 participants from various islands including New Caledonia, PNG, Samoa, Tahiti, Fiji, Northern Mariana Islands, Cook Islands, Vanuatu, Tonga, and Solomon Islands.
Men’s and women’s golf teams from the Solomon Islands: Team Manager: Ronica Tyson. Men’s team: Paul Soring, George Rukabo, Ben Felani, and Jeff Song. Everlyn Maelasi, Ann Suhera, Norman Janswopereis, and Siru Hicky comprise the women’s team.
According to yesterday’s results, New Caledonia had the most points (215) among the men, followed by PNG (220), Samoa (228), Northern Mariana (240), Solomon Islands (243), Tahiti (245), and Tonga (246).
The Sol2023 Pacific Games Golf championship, attracting 10 Pacific countries to compete for the top prize.
The men’s team event leader board from day one is as follows:

- Fiji = 234
- Northern Mariana Islands = 240
- Cook Islands = 241
- Solomon Islands = 243
- Tahiti = 245
- Tonga = 246
The women’s team event leaderboard on day one stands as:
- PNG = 236
- New Caledonia = 240
- Samoa = 241
- Cook Islands = 247
- Tonga = 247
- Tahiti = 249
- Solomon Islands = 250
On Thursday – Day 2, the competitions continue, and admission is free.
