HONIARA Table Tennis Association will host its school’s open ranking table tennis competition 2022 from July 4 to 6 July next month.
President of the Honiara Table Tennis Association (HTTA) Mr. Kevin Olea told Raw Sports that the event will be held at a multipurpose hall in Honiara.
President Olea said that the competition will feature two team events and single events.
“This is one of the many activities that the association has to scout potential athletes and prepare for the national events such as schools games and the Solomon Games,’’ he said.
Mr. Olea said that 18 schools have confirmed their participation to compete during the three days events comes July.
“This will include three para tennis clubs who actively participated with the Honiara Table Tennis Association,’’ said President Olea.
Meanwhile, President Kevin Olea also acknowledged the following for their support during the recent top 20 Easter competition from 18th April to 22nd at West Kola Ridge.
“Hon Lanelle Tanagada, Mr Martin Housanao, Mr Chris Hapa and Mrs Tekula,’’ said Olea.
He said that the boy’s single category was won by Junior Hou (Gold) of Coronation school, seconded by Jamie Housanao (silver), and Frank Samani of St Nicholas taking the 3rd (Bronze) place.
In the girls’ category, it shows Pauline Martin of Mbokona settling first with Gold, followed by Tabitha of St Nicholas in the second place with silver, and Sonelle Tana of Betikama Adventist College with Bronze.
