“THIS tourney isn’t enough, we still got some haters that need to be put in their place. We ain’t going nowhere, and our preparation for our next comp is to show why our first win isn’t a fluke. I have nothing but respect and love for every clan out there, but once we’re on that plane, everyone is a target, and we want all the smoke.”
This was the utterance of the leader of Hidden Leafs, Gregory Thomson aka Hidden Bones speaking on behalf of the members of his clan on their victory at the first-ever PUBG and CODM competition being organized by Our Telekom Company last weekend.
Gregory expressed that winning the first-ever PUBG competition in the Solomon Islands means so much for them.
“We didn’t just win this comp for us as a clan. We won this for our fans and to show other kids, teens, and adults that it is possible to earn money while playing games. This is a new era, we are now doing what others thought we couldn’t do for the next 10 years,” he pointed out.
In their qualifying/Elimination rounds in early September, Hidden Leafs come in 5th position, nevertheless qualified for the final round of the competition which has completed last weekend.
“We didn’t go as hard in the qualifiers as we did in the finals as we knew that our goals in the qualifiers and finals would be different.
“Our plan in the qualifiers was to simply qualify, and we’ve achieved that goal. We didn’t go with a plan, it was a fun and very tough 2 games but we still got the job done.
“Skipping to finals, we came prepared with our plan. We planned to play the zone, compound placing and at least average 7-8 team kill a map. We knew it was over as soon as we got 105pts in Sanhok,” Gregory said.
Meanwhile, the clan leader pointed out with regards to set-up and venue, he said that it could have been done a lot better if there was time put into it.
“It was very crowded inside, and we had no space of privacy at all, plus I reckon the people who came to watch should’ve had a mini projector or like a TV screen available for them to watch as they all were just sitting outside watching from someone else’s phone.
“Other than saying that, the stream was awesome, the staff was very helpful, the host was very welcoming and the comp, in general, was a success.
“It was an honor to play in the Solomon Islands’ first-ever PUBG competition, and thank you to Our Telekom to give us gaming community a chance to exploit ourselves and to show what we’re capable of in this entertainment industry.
Gregory said they are going to spend roughly 1 or 2 thousand dollars on their celebrations, and the rest will be used for the clan’s needs like RP, room cards, or whatever is necessary for the clan.
