A POINT difference on the table and standing of teams at the West Are’are Christmas cup tournament table indicated a good and competitive start.
The standing after day 2 of the competition on Tuesday saws Pool C leaders Waisisi FC leading with 4 points, a point away from the pool A group leaders Wairokai FC who leads with 3 points.
Waisisi played 2 games while Wairokai who won the Cup in 2008 registered their 3 points points only in their first game of the competition.
Other teams that shared 3 points after playing their first matches included, Kiu United and St Steven Ai’arai of Pool A, two time champions Warato’o FC of pool B and Arana, and Ry-coast of pool D and Northern United FC, Hauhui 1 and Hokita, Irian FC of Pool B and Hauhui 2, Arekan Eels and Masiu of pool C all have registered 0ne (1) point each.
Meanwhile five teams yet to register points in the competition are Taruma United, Wai-one of Pool A, Kinapa of pool C, and Heohana and Wariba of pool D.
Featured games for day three of championship, Wednesday 29, that includes, Ry-coast FC vs. Heohana, Wairokai vs. Taruma, Warato’o vs. Hauhui, Hauhui 2 vs. Arekan Eels, Wariba vs. Arana, Kiu United vs. St Steven Ai’arai, Northern Border against Irian FC, Masiu vs. Waisisi, Heohana vs. Wariba and Wai-one against Wairokai fc.

The theme for the 2021 tournament is “GREENER SPORT” which emphasized and advocate for a ‘Clean and Greener Environment’.
It is understood that the organising committee with the support from Honiara based West Are’Are fundraising committee earlier this year, held three fundraising drive to raise fund towards organising this major constituency tournament.
