Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) President Donald Marahare proudly announced that Solomon Kings FC will represent the country in the upcoming OFC Professional League, unveiled on 29 October 2025 at Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand.
The announcement came during the Super League award ceremony at Lawson Tama Stadium over the weekend. “The launch of the OFC Pro League and the inclusion of Solomon Kings FC is a testament to what is possible when we dream boldly and act decisively,” said Marahare. “I am proud to announce a new era for Solomon Islands football.”
Marahare described the league as more than just a tournament. “It is a revolution in how countries develop, showcase, and celebrate football across the region,” he said, noting that it is also a call to elevate domestic competitions, particularly the S-League, to prepare players for a professional future.

The OFC Professional League, starting on 17 January 2026 at Eden Park in Auckland and running until May, will feature eight clubs from seven Pacific nations in a circuit-style format. Participating teams include Bula FC (Fiji), Hekari United (Papua New Guinea), Tahiti United FC (Tahiti), Vanuatu United FC (Vanuatu), Auckland FC and South Island United (New Zealand), South Melbourne FC (Australia), and Solomon Kings FC. Honiara has been announced as one of the host locations for a March 2026 circuit.
The league will determine Australia’s representative for the 2026 FIFA Intercontinental Cup and serve as a pathway to the 2029 FIFA World Cup.
Solomon Kings FC is a joint venture between SIFF and Brisbane-based Wynnum Wolves FC, building on a long-standing relationship dating back to the mid-1990s. “This historical connection made the collaboration a natural next step in forming Solomon Kings FC,” said Marahare.
He added, “Solomon Kings is more than a team—it will strengthen and complement our national football team by providing a professional platform for player development, tactical growth, and international exposure. It is a symbol of our ambition, showcasing the talent, discipline, and spirit that define our nation.”
Marahare said, “This opportunity will open doors for our players to pursue professional careers, for our coaches to innovate, and for our federation to build lasting partnerships across the region.”
