WITH more than a year left to the 2023 Pacific Games in Honiara, Solomon Islands Para Powerlifting coach, Lesley Ata, feels they are on the right track at the moment.
Coach Ata said that the paralifters are showing positive signs at training and they are competing amongst themselves for a place in the final para squad.
“The para athletes are training hard and the confidence are high to achieve gold medals in the upcoming Pacific Games 2023 in Honiara.
“I’m proud and feel confident that they will achieve their aims to win gold medals. I always put my trust behind them as they continue to maintain their physical and mental confidence in their scheduled training sessions,” Ata told RAW SPORTS.
He pointed out that to win gold medals is not an easy task for the boys, but I always encouraged them that nothing is hard for them to achieve at the upcoming 2023 Pacific Games.
“If the para powerlifters continue stay focus and discipline towards their high performance training, I believe that they can achieve gold medals without all reasonable doubt.
“The paralifters have started their early preparation training since mid-July of this year, and I have observed massive individual improvements as they continue to make commitment towards their trainings at the National Institute of Sports (SINIS) complex,” Ata said.
