GAME 1 of the Warriors Clash rugby challenge between Malaita Crusaders and Eastern Highlanders, of East Bellona, Renbel Province, scheduled for today, has been postponed to Tuesday 12 October 2021.
This is to show respect to Team Eastern Highlanders, in the passing away of one of their family members early this week.
Management of both teams has agreed for the much-anticipated game 1 of the Warriors Clash challenge, be postponed to next week.
This initiative of staging this clash is about bridging our diverse cultures, and it is also a norm in both our cultures that respect for our dead, is a paramount. This is the main basis of the postponement for game one of the three-series challenge.
We apologise to all the supporters and fans of both teams for any inconvenience this may cause, and thank you for your understanding. We however ask that you schedule your program to ensure you all come out in numbers on Tuesday next week, to support our teams.
As a curtain-raiser, the challenge will have two of our women’s teams face off in a 7s match before the men’s sides take on each other in what is expected to be a thrilling battle of warriors.
