The future stars of Solomon Islands football are officially on their way. The Solomon Islands U-16 Men’s National Team departed Honiara today for Papua New Guinea, where they will compete in the OFC U-16 Men’s Championship 2026 — the biggest youth football stage in Oceania.

Their departure marks the beginning of a major campaign as the young boys prepare to take on the region’s strongest teams, proudly flying the Solomon Islands flag with determination, discipline, and national pride.
These young athletes represent the next wave of football talent for the country. Their journey to PNG is not just about competition — it is about development, exposure, and building the next chapter of Solomon Islands football excellence.
The team will compete in Group B, facing:
- New Zealand
- Vanuatu
- Tahiti

Each match will be a test of character, teamwork, and resilience — qualities the boys have been sharpening throughout their preparations.
As they boarded their flight, the team carried with them the hopes of families, coaches, supporters, and the entire nation. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and belief — a reminder that Solomon Islands football continues to grow stronger at every level.
