WHITE River Community High School Girls U-18 team was crowned as champions of the 2021 SIFF U-18 Girl’s Football League at the official awards presentation yesterday at the Paradise hall, Pacific Casino Hotel in Honiara.
White River finished top of the standings with 22 points after eight games played.
Another school from West Honiara Marara CHS received second place followed by Panatina CHS in third and Lungga CHS in the fourth position.
The U1-8 Girl’s League consist of nine schools in Honiara namely White River CHS, Marara CHS, Panatina CHS, Lungga CHS, Mbokona CHS, Global Harvest Academy, St Nicholas College and Florence Young Christian High School.
The event was attended by guests, participating teams, coaching staff, teachers, other school staff and supporters.
Distinguished guests in attendance were invited from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs, National Hosting Authority, Pacific Games High-Performance Team, Solraise Company Limited, SIFF Executive Committee, Women’s Football Committee and Solrais Women’s Premier League Board.
The winners of the awards for this year are as follows:
First Prize – White River CHS
Second Prize – Marara CHS
Third Prize – Panatina CHS
Fourth Prize – Lungga CHS
Fairest Team – Global Harvest Academy School
Golden Boot Award – Hannah Ali (Marara CHS)
Golden Glove Award – Nina Forau (White River CHS)
Player of the League Award – Salome Masi (White River CHS)
