SOLOMON Islands para-athlete, Breeze Pita brings hope that he can win a gold medal for the country in Para javelin at the Pacific Games 2023 in Honiara.
To recap, Breeze has this year taken gold medals in the three respective field events -seated javelin, discuss’ and shot-put at the Queensland State Championships in Australia.
“I hope to keep the drive going here into the one that matters which is this year’s Pacific Games in Honiara,” said the 29-year-old. “I never give up attending my scheduled weekly training at the Solomon Islands Institute of Sports Complex (SINIS).”
Breeze who is from Telina village at Marovo Lagoon in Western Province brings a lot plenty of experience to the field, he represented the country at the Pacific Games 2019 in Samoa and also in championship events at Adelaide in Australia.
However, he made his Para championship debut in 2012 at Gold Coast, Australia, and won silver.
With his wealth of experience, Breeze is now more than determined to make the country proud at this year’s 17th Pacific Games set to begin from November 19 to 2 December 2023 in Honiara.
Likewise, Para-athlete Head Coach Augustine Olibuma told RAW SPORTS that the 29-year-old has kept the positive momentum going every day under my watchful eyes and has shown immense commitment towards his high-performance training weekly schedules.
“He is one of the best and most promising para athletes in the country, and shown best results both in training and competition,’’ the head coach Olibuma said.
