Henderson Eels FC suffered a tough home soil defeat yesterday as Ba Women FC delivered a commanding 6–0 victory, claiming their strength early in Group A and leaving the hosts with a difficult opening result.
The match shifted dramatically in the first half when Henderson Eels were reduced to ten players following an early red card, forcing the team into a defensive battle for the remainder of the game.

Ba Women FC, the 2025 semi finalists, capitalized with sharp passing, relentless pressure, and clinical finishing that the Eels struggled to contain.
Despite the disadvantage, Henderson Eels fought bravely to the final whistle.
Captain Ileen Pegi, also a key figure in the National Women’s Team, reflected honestly on the performance and the areas that must improve.

“We got an early red card — it changed everything for us. It’s always a challenge playing against Ba. We move on to the next. We did our best, we fought to the end of the game, and it’s tough. We thought we could do better in the second half, but it’s tough.”
Pegi also highlighted key improvements needed as the team prepares for their next Group A match.
“We need improvement in defense, be more composed, organize our back line, and improve our finishing.”
