SOLOMON Islands para-archery athlete Bobby Sunaone died on Wednesday.
Bobby, who competed at the Sol2023 Pacific Games, died yesterday after a “Long Battle” with the diabetes.
He secured the best medal performance for the Solomon Islands para team in history when he won a bronze medal at the Sol2023 Pacific Games in the men’s compound archery competition.
Archer Georgina Lepping, the first female from the Solomon Island in the women’s compound archery event at the Sol2023 Pacific Games, took to social media to extend her deepest sympathy to Bobby’s family, loved ones, and friends over his demise.
“I don’t know what to say or think. Rest in eternal peace, Bobby Sunaone.
“I’m lost for words; I had a great time knowing you, training with you, and playing alongside you during the Pacific Games 2023.
“Watching you achieve your goals in getting your personal best in archery compound and watching you anxiously come to train every chance you get.
“Rest high with our God Almighty and Christ till that great reunion day, till that golden morning, my brother. Rest high, and May the legacy you leave behind live on in our hearts and minds and with your beautiful family.
“More than a medal winner, your humor made us all lucky to have and be around you. Rest high, Bobby. My deepest condolences to the family. May God be with your immediate families and loved ones in this time of grief,” she said.
