“This is also our first Under-19 managed under our Skul-Fut Academy. The boys have done an excellent job in training and execute the tactics during game times,’’ she told Rawsport.
Mrs Wakio also applaud the boys for their hard work and the discipline they possessed to produce such a positive first-time result.
“They have definitely worked hard and disciplined themselves to produce such a good result. They are young and have that passion for football and will have a bright future in football,’’ said Mrs. Wakio.
She told Rawsport during an exclusive interview that the Skul-fut academy is designed as a pathway to cater and make way for young eels players to join the TSL teams up. She said believe the kids have the potential.
“My advice to the young boys is, keep chasing your dreams. Involve yourselves in activities that you feel confident with and keep preserving to the end.
“We would like to acknowledge our lord for everything as all things comes from him alone and it is my belief that when you put God into things that you do, nothing is difficult to achieve.
“These kids have found great joy, discipline, and love as they are developing in soccer. We still have leagues to go through. All other Under-19 Tourney will be tough,’’ she said.
The Eels Skul-Fut Caretaker said she had also observed many raw talented young football players and have thank the Solomon Islands football federation for making the pre-season possible.
“So far I have seen many natural talents we would like to thank SIFF for arranging this pre-season. It has helped our boys to identify mistakes and strength which they will work on before another league starts.
“We would like to thank our coaches, management and the boys for achieving this and our God for making it happened,’’ said Mrs Wakio.
The young Eels were the Champion of the TSL Under-19 pre-season after defeating Warriors Under19 side, 1-0 in the grand final match held at the Lawson Tama Stadium Tuesday, 10 August, 2021.
