PROVINCIAL teams from Isabel, Guadalcanal, and Western have kicked off the Solomon Games 2023 women’s netball competition with defeats in their first matches in pools A and B yesterday at the Friendship Hall in east Honiara.
Isabel was defeated by Central province 29-30, Guadalcanal lose to Makira Ulawa 48-49 and Choiseul province defeated Western 52-41, all in round one (1) of the Solomon Games 2023 women’s netball competition.
A total of ten netball teams from the provinces will participate in this year’s Solomon Games which will run from 27 to 31 march in Honiara.
The provincial teams in pool A include Central Island province, Guadalcanal, Makira Ulawa, Isabel, and Temotu. Pool B includes Western province, Rennell & Bellona, Malaita, Choiseul, and Honiara City.

- Temotu vs Makira Ulawa – 9 am
- Honiara vs Malaita – 10 am
- Central vs Guadalcanal – 11 am
- Western vs Rennell & Bellona -12 pm
- Makira Ulawa vs Isabel – 2 pm
- Choiseul vs Malaita – 3 pm
Meanwhile, round five (5) is scheduled to kick off Wednesday 29, pool B Honiara will take Western at 9 am, Temotu and central of pool A at 10 am, Isabel vs. Guadalcanal of pool A at 11 am, and Choiseul vs Rennell & Bellona of pool B at noon.
Semi-finals and grand finals are expected to take place on Thursday and Friday this week at the friendship hall.
