THE Democratic Coalition Government for Advancement, People’s Republic of China ambassador and reps, NHA reps and diplomatic had recently witnessed the historical occasion of the ground breaking ceremony of the PG23 National Stadium Project funded by PRC.
Chairman of the PG23 NHA committee Mr. Joe Sika said the occasion signal the commencement of construction of the PRC funded pacific game Stadium project.
Delivering his key note address on Wednesday 5 May during the PG23 National Stadium Project ground breaking ceremony, Sika confirmed that the SIG funded project, the National institute of Sport located at the old telecom recreational area will open in a couple of months.
Addressing SI and PRC government officials plus other stakeholders and diplomatic corps, Mr. Sika furthers affirmed that the multipurpose hall futsal court that was funded by People’s Republic of Indonesia (PRI) will complete by 5th May 2022.
Mr. Sika assured the China civil engineering construction company (CCECC) during the historical ground breaking event which was held at the KG6 in East Honiara that his committee will work hand in hand with CCECC.
“My committee is your direct counterpart in the construction of the facilities, my committee is responsible for the standards and legacy of all the facilities for the 2023 Pacific games.
“I give you today my complete assurance that my committee will work hand in hand with you to ensure the Pacific game project is delivered to agreed quality, on time and on budget,” Sika said.
He said that the 2023 Pacific games (PG23) is a dream come true as Solomon islands a sporting Nation had lack standard sport facilities for quite some time and this new chapter will enhanced young future sport men and women in SI.
“This event today (Wednesday 5 May2021) celebrates one of the crucial moment in the history of sports development in Solomon Islands. I welcome you all again for today’s historic event and I sincerely thank the Hon Prime Minister and HE Ambassador Li Ming specifically to partake in the event to mark the start of the project – PG23 National Stadium Project.
“I am so excited that this spectacular project is finally and becoming a reality,” said the NHA Committee Chairman Mr. Joe Sika while giving his opening and welcome speech during the ground breaking ceremony in Honiara.
