SOLOMON Islands Football Federation has informed provincial clubs that this year’s National U14 League – Youth Solomon Cup – is scheduled to start on 26 September.
Solomon Islands Football Federation’s (SIFF) Telekom Super League’s Games Director, Gerald Oiaka confirmed that eight (8) provincial teams have confirmed their participation except for Temotu province.
“We will have youths from 8 provinces to participate, we expect two teams – ‘women and boys teams’ from each province.
“Unfortunately, Temotu province will not participate in this year’s U14 championships due to some technical issues,’’ he told media at the recent SIFF media conference.
Oiaka confirmed that the forthcoming U14 Championship will be a seven aside competition.
“Again the challenging part is also the verification process, however, we trust all the Youth Development Officers and Provincial Football Association that every information submitted should be honest and true, so it does not disturb the competition.
“So this is the final National Championship SIFF will organize for the last quarter of this year and scheduled matches will be played at DC Park playing ground,” he said.
