Solomon Islands National Futsal Team, the Kurukuru boys have flown out of the country this afternoon for the first leg of their European tour ahead of the FIFA Futsal World Cup in Lithuania September 2021.
Despite, not having the service of their 2 main Australian based players, James Egeta and Jack Whitney due travel restrictions imposed currently in Australia, Kurukuru Skipper, Elliot Ragomo said he have a very strong believe and trust in the current players and the coaching staff that they can achieve more.

“Everyone have worked really hard and each one of us knows what we have to do to achieve our goals.
“I have a very strong believe and trust in the current players and coaching staff to take us to the next level,” Ragomo said.
He further added that just be able to go out there and represent the country in the highest Tournament of Futsal in the world is an honour.

“We are very honoured and also humbled just to represent Solomon Islands in the biggest futsal tournament in the world.
“Our goal is to make it to the next level of the futsal world cup however, we just have to take one day at a time.
“With the coaching staff and players we have, we are really excited and looking forward to the challenges ahead,” The Kururkuru Captain said.
Wonder boy, Rafael Le’ai also shared similar sentiments stating that he is very excited and happy to represent Solomon Islands, his Family and his province for the first time at the FIFA Futsal World Cup in Lithuania later this year.

“It is a very big opportunity for me to go out there and show the world – We are Solomon Islanders!
“Iam looking forward for the upcoming buildup matches and will do my very best,” Rafa said.
Meanwhile, James Egeta who will be missing out representing the country in this year’s FIFA Futsal World Cup due to travel restrictions imposed currently in Australia, wishes the team all best in their build up games leading up to the World Cup in September.

“Be strong in Physical, Mentally and also in the spiritual side as well.
“You will be playing against some of the world’s best and finest futsal players thus you do need to put extra effort than the qualifying stage.
“I fully support you boys that you will do your best and make your country proud,” James Egeta said in an interview with Rawsport News today.
