Students from Macquarie University have thanked the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport (SINIS) after completing their four‑week New Colombo Plan placement, expressing gratitude for the hands‑on learning and the warm support they received from local coaches and athletes.
The National Sports Council (NSC), through SINIS, farewelled the five Exercise and Sports Science students, Jean Stump, Josh Coulton, Rory McFarlane, Jacqueline Hamilton and Simone Dyer who spent the past month working alongside SINIS Strength and Conditioning coaches in high‑performance sport.
During their placement, the students engaged in athlete training programs, school visits, Solomon Games activities and wider community outreach, gaining valuable experience while contributing to local sport development.
SINIS Performance Manager Zanetana Djokovic acknowledged their commitment and thanked the Australian Government and Macquarie University for supporting knowledge exchange and strengthening high‑performance pathways in Solomon Islands.
